Grief Support Resources

Grief does not follow a schedule or a set of rules. Every person experiences loss differently, and there is no single right way to grieve. At Saddleback Chapel Mortuary, we want you to know that support is available, whether you need someone to talk to, a group that understands what you are going through, or simply a resource to help you make sense of what you are feeling.

Understanding Grief

Grief can affect you physically, emotionally, and mentally. Common experiences include difficulty sleeping, changes in appetite, trouble concentrating, feelings of sadness or anger, and a sense of disbelief. These are normal responses to loss. There is no timetable for grief, and there is no point at which you should expect to be finished.

Some people find comfort in returning to daily routines. Others need time away from their normal responsibilities. Both responses are valid. What matters most is that you give yourself permission to grieve in the way that feels right for you.

When to Seek Help

If you find that grief is interfering with your ability to function in daily life over an extended period of time, or if you are experiencing feelings of hopelessness, it may be helpful to speak with a professional grief counselor or therapist. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness. It is a practical step toward healing.
