Boanerges 'Bo' Bolanos

boanerges bolanos

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bo Bolanos, 65 years old, on February 10, 2025. Bo was born to Miriam and David Bolanos in El Salvador, Central America. He moved to the United States at a young age, where he pursued and accomplished his childhood dream of becoming an architect. Bo graduated from CalPoly Pomona with a B.S. in Architecture and a B.S. in Arts.

Bo's talent extended beyond architecture—he was a gifted artist and designer, leaving an indelible mark on the world. He dedicated 30 years of his career to Walt Disney Imagineering, where he retired as a respected Imagineer.

Bo is survived by his four siblings: Al, Delmy, Mo, and Mariela; his Godchildren, Robin, Sofia, and Walter; and nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and creativity.

Though words cannot fully express our grief, we take comfort in knowing that Bo's legacy of passion, artistry, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed more than we can say.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. This is a really sad day. Bo has been the best neighbor to us and became a great friend. We always looked forward to crossing paths with him throughout the week.

We are going to remember him for being one of the most kind and thoughtful people we have ever met. My favorite characteristic of Bo was his presence. I knew, without question, that when we were engaged in conversation, whether idle chit chat or a deep topic, he was 100% engaged in that particular discussion, and his attention did not wander elsewhere. So great.

We are going to miss you, Bo. A life well-lived!

  2. In the short few years that I got to know Bo, he left such an indelible mark on our family’s lives. When we first moved to the MacArthur village, he welcomed us with a sweet note and a bottle of wine. I remember thinking: This Bo guy seems very special. And he was. I loved running into him and discussing any and every topic under the sun. Every interaction with Bo was nothing short of enriching.

Miss you so much, Bo, but I will forever cherish the time I got to spend in your presence.

  3. Fam Bolaños. I hope you remember me. I am Lynda, Cesar and Judith’s daughter. Your parents were my Godparents and I grew up with all of you. I heard a podcast about Disney and decided to look up your brother. Imagine my surprise when I learned of his passing. Your brother was incredibly kind to me when we were children. You are in my thoughts and I will keep him in my heart forever. Much love to all of you. May his memory be a blessing.
