Olivia Flores Alvarez, 75, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Santa Ana, California, the city where she was born and spent her life surrounded by family and community.

Born on October 28, 1949, in Santa Ana, Olivia was deeply rooted in the place she called home. Over the years, she embraced many roles with grace and dedication—homemaker, sales professional, student, educator, volunteer—but above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Olivia shared a loving marriage with her husband Frank. Together they raised three children: Corinna Pulsifer, Carolyn Medrano, and their late son Frank Joseph. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandsons—Ryan Jacob, Jaden Lucas, and Dylan Frank—who brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to caring for her family at home, Olivia worked in sales before pursuing a long-held dream of higher education. With determination and pride, she returned to college later in life and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. This accomplishment led her to serve as a teacher aide at a local preschool—a role that allowed her to nurture young minds with patience and warmth. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her careers. Olivia volunteered at St. Joseph School in Santa Ana, where she worked closely with students with special needs. Her compassion and willingness to give back left a lasting impression on those whose lives she touched.

Family and friends will gather to honor Olivia’s life during a visitation on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Saddleback Chapel, located at 220 E Main Street in Tustin, with a Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Olivia’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 1:15 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 727 N Minter Street in Santa Ana. Following the Mass, burial services will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. A reception will follow from 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Shaffer Park Clubhouse 1930 N Shaffer St., Orange, CA 92865

Olivia’s journey was marked by love for her family and service to others. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire acts of kindness in her honor.

  7. Aunt Olivia was truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was like a second mother to me and so many others. Anytime you walked into her and Uncle Frank’s home, you felt welcomed, loved, and completely comfortable, like you were exactly where you were supposed to be. She had a smile that could light up a room, and somehow, she was always wearing it.
Now she’s at peace, reunited with her baby boy, Frank. I’ll miss her deeply, but I look forward to the day we meet again.

  8. May her memory be for a blessing.

  20. My dearest Olivia, I will always remember seeing you regularly walking which only gave me fuel to continue. I always said if she can get up early and start walking so can I, no excuses. So every time I saw you I would wave high. Seeing you taking care of your beautiful flowers outside your house in which you took pride of, having us over for some pozole these are the moments that I will always remember. Having you be there for Aaron and bring him gifts, and being there when I needed you meant the world. Your kind heart will never be forgotten. Always there when someone needed something. Everyday I pass by your house know I will always be thinking of you and your family. Griset Place holds a special place in my heart. I know you are at peace being in your sons arms. That brings me gratitude to know this. We will miss you and will always have you in our hearts. Thank you for everything.
