Rose Marie 'Rosie' Wells

rose wells

Rose Marie Wells, better known to all of us as Rosie, was born on Sunday, July 15, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. Rosie was the firstborn child of John Philip and Maria Rita Levesque. Rosie was named after her paternal grandmother, Rose Marie Levesque. Rosie was the eldest of four daughters, followed by Veronica, Deanna, and Marijean. As a child, Rosie’s artistic talent was always well beyond her years. Her father, John Philip, would often ask Rosie to create family greeting cards, where Rosie would showcase an array of illustrations and write with the most beautiful penmanship. Throughout high school, Rosie continued to expand on her artistic talent. Rosie took classes in ceramics, drama, Model United Nations, and art history. Rosie graduated from Tustin High School in 1997. Rosie would later reconnect with David Wells, the brother of her high school friend Christina. Dave and Rosie later married on October 2nd, 2004, in Newport Beach, California.

After high school, Rosie continued her pursuit of art, enrolling in college courses at Irvine Valley College. Later, she published multiple art pieces in books such as Poisoned Touch and Richard the Dragon, while working with her lifelong friend Monica McCormick at Poisoned Heart Productions.

Rosie was an artist, but the title wasn’t just a passion; it was her lifestyle. When she wasn’t arts and crafting, you would often find Rosie practicing Duolingo, catching Pokémon, watching anime, playing her favorite video games, or reading a new book. Rosie was the mother of two cats and a second mother to her many nieces and nephews.

She was a loving Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and most of all a best friend to many. Rosie was the warm blanket after a terrible storm, a hug in the darkest of days. She often acted without question and loved without limits.

  1. I can’t believe you’ve left us so soon. You were such a brilliant light in this world. It seems so dark without you here. You were my best friend for 20+ years and I can’t comprehend a life without you in it. You were such a beautiful soul. You truly loved everyone and constantly put others before yourself. Your wit was unmatched and you were so wonderfully talented. I miss you soo much already. I love you and I will never, ever, forget you. Sho and I extend our deepest condolences to David, your mother and sisters, other family and friends. ♥️🕊️

  2. Rosie and I met in freshman year of high school. Through thick and thin we had some amazing adventures! No matter the time or distance we always could connect like we were never apart. I’ll love her forever as my sister from another mister. Words can not express the emptiness I have in my heart knowing she has left this world. Rest in forever peace Rosie. You will be sorely missed.

  3. Rosie was one of my favorite people & I was lucky enough to call her family. She was an amazing Aunt to my children, a loving wife to my brother.

Rosie was always up game night, every time we got together & we laughed for hours while we played. I will miss those treasured times.

My kids had so much fun with her. Keira is very artistic, she learned a lot from her Aunt Rosie, she really fostered her talents.

I will miss all the moments we shared.

  4. The first time I met Rosie was in high school. She was a good friend of Brad who was the brother of my good friend Loren. We did not hit it off then, but I did find her cute, smart, and witty. Years later after returning from college, I found that she somehow infiltrated my family. She was not only a backup singer in my brother Steven's garage band, she somehow ended up in my sister Christina's orbit and good friend of her soon to be husband Mike.

Christina and I eventually became housemates and Rosie was often invited over to game nights, new years, etc. I don't fully remember exactly how I got Rosie to come over, I think it may have been also Valentines day and we didn't have any dates, it may have been an offer to view my anime collection, but she came over and we hit it off, and she has been my best friend ever since and I miss her very much.

  8. Rosie was my closest friend, my biggest cheerleader, and the loveliest person I have ever known. I admired the way she brightened the lives of other people with the smallest, most thoughtful, and most genuine gestures. Rosie lifted people up with kindness, attention, and joy. She never sought credit for it — she just wanted to see people shine.

The world feels a little bit dimmer without Rosie here to brighten our days, but she also serves as an inspiration to continue where she left off. Whether it's a kind word, a small compliment, or a moment of encouragement, I think we can all honor Rosie's memory by spreading the same love and joy she shared so freely. Her spirit of kindness will stay with me always, and I am endlessly grateful for the light she brought into my life every single day.

  9. Ashley "MagickDream" Bloss says:

My deepest love, hugs, and condolences to everyone. I felt honored to know Rosie, who I knew as Cerulienne, even for the time I was able to. Getting to chat even a little in Monica's Twitch chat and Discord was wonderful and gave me one two many much needed laughs. We were most certainly a lot a like and I admired her fighting spirit. Her art is absolutely beautiful and I'll certainly always think of her when I pick up my pencil to draw.

  10. I knew Rosie from being my parents and others being friends. I always found her happy and cheerful energy something to cherish, and always looked up to her as an artist.

I never realised just how much I would miss you because I never thought this would happen to such a beautiful young soul so soon.

I will always hold those moments and smiles we shared close to my heart, I miss you and I love you dearly.

  15. "Like a butterfly in a field of flowers, Rosie shared love and laughter to every soul she touched." Rosie came to love us as we loved her. She will always be remembered for the light she unabashedly shined upon our world. She accepted no excuse for the selfish or unkind actions of others. It was her humor, love, kindness, and acceptance of all who proved good intentions for this world which endeared Rosie to us. She was stubborn in many ways, however those ways always included the generosity of her time and love for her family and friends. Rosie's love is the greatest gift she shared with us and it will never be forgotten. We will love you always unto the otherside.

  21. Truly a remarkable person. Both in talent and charm. I appreciated her overwhelmingly kind vibe whenever we talked, whether it was about art direction, TTRPG game play, Game of Wolves play or life in general, the conversation would always be light and creative. Rosie's art will live on forever in so many ways, for so many people, but for me I will always be grateful for the art she contributed to the Game of Wolves game that I have been working on for years. We spent months working together on honing down the art for all the roles that are in my game. She had a great eye and a knack for creating character art that conveyed familiarity and told a vivid story. I will forever be grateful to her for working with me with some of the most challenging characters. Some of her key pieces I have highlighted in this post. You will be sorely missed, Rosie. Rest well.

  23. Rosie was the threads to so many of our live quilts.
Painting visions of beauty with everything she did.
    Sculpting memories with every word.
Stitching giggles we will never forget.
Molding her imprint with the time she gave to us.
Throwing pixie dust to leave everything sparkly & majestic.
Poisoned Heart Productions & myself will always
    honor Rosie's Art Legacy.

Lets keep Rosie's love going with all little simple things cute & fun
to keep us smiling while she visits us in our every day lives
and whispers sweetly to us in our dreams.

    I love you Rosie.
    Thank you for everything.
May you rest in peace with love & light.
See you on the other side.

  24. My heart is shattered. Rosie was my best friend. I am gutted to my core. We should have had more time. It's not fair at all.
We were the kind of friends that could not be separated by distance. We just picked up where we left off. See you next time. Then I learned that there would not be a next time. My sister from another mister. Partner in crime. Ride or die. Uni-mind participant.

We were supposed to be cranky old ladies sitting on a porch some day judging people as they walked by. Oh we judged.
The amount of shenanigans we participated in was off the charts. It's probably good that there is no photographic evidence. We had more creative ideas we had time for. Like the action figure "production" that never got past the picture phase.

I will never forget my 27th birthday at Dave & Buster's. I drove us there. Then everyone bought me a drink… and I fell asleep at the table. Rosie ended up driving me home in the back seat of my own car. I was crying because I didn't get to play any skee-ball. She then helped my mother get me into PJs and put me to bed. It was until years later I learned the rest of the story after she got me home. Apparently she realized after the fact that she had also had too much to drink but pure adrenaline got her back to my house. She then had to call David to come pick her up since I had driven that night. She always took care of you no matter what.

More good times than I can list here. Some without any photographic evidence which is probably for the best. I will miss our adventures.

She was there for me as recent as last year. Rosie and David dropped everything and headed to NV to be with me and my mom when we lost my step-dad Greg. Mom always called her Kid 2. We were firmly part of each other's families. So many years together. Rosie's sisters and parents became my family too. I'm truly honored to have been a part of Rosie's beautiful and extraordinary life.

    Rest in peace Rosie
    Love you forever sister

  25. I just found out about Rosie's passing tonight. RIP.

You touched every life that you were a part of. Rain or shine, you were always there to listen to anyone who needed someone to talk to. You were everyone's rock. I'm sorry that we haven't spoken much recently, but you will always be with me, and I will always love and remember you. Thank you for being a part of my life. Hugs. :*(
