Christine Gloria Groom
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Christine Gloria Groom. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in her home in Anaheim, California. She leaves behind her older sister, Debbie Groom-Olive, and her husband, Reed Olive, her younger brother, David Scott Groom, and his wife, Lisa Groom, and her sister, Lianne Louk.
Christie Groom was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on her father’s birthday, December 1st, 1962. The Groom Family moved to Tustin, California in 1965. Christie was a special child with special needs. After she completed her schooling in the Tustin Unified School District, she went to work at RIO (Rehabilitation Institute of Orange) in the city of Orange for many years. Feeling she had worked enough at RIO, she announced her retirement to stay home to help take care of her mother in her later years.
After her beloved mother passed away in 2015, Christie and her sister, Lianne, moved into the Sunrise Guest Home where she enjoyed living the balance of her life.
Christie was always the light in the room and made us all smile and laugh with her witty comments. She always knew what needed to be said and when to say it. She loved to watch her TV Programs, read and write in her books and especially loved her knitting. Christie participated in the Special Olympics in her early years competing in Gymnastics and Track and Field.
There will be a service for Christie on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Viewing from 10am to 11am, Service from 11am to 12 pm, followed by a dedication of the grave at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside at 2:15 pm.
Christie’s unwavering love will leave a void in our family that can never be filled by anyone else. She always brought a special spirit and full of love to our family and to her friends and she will be truly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
