David Lopez, age 87 passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 21, 2024. He was born on April 14, 1937, in Bakersfield, CA to his loving parents Reynaldo and Olivia Lopez. Dave, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He attended Huntington Beach High School, worked various jobs before becoming the Head Custodian for the Ocean View School District for 30 years. Upon retirement, Dave continued to work hard for his community of Santa Ana, CA as a volunteer. Dave was a resident of Santa Ana for 60 years and never wavered in his dedication to doing good deeds for his community. He worked with the Mayor, Council Members, Staff and the Community to always improve the City of Santa Ana. Through his hard and dedicated work, he was awarded many community awards including The Exceptional Citizen award, Neighborhood Hero Legacy award and many more too numerous to list. His dedication to the city was never for the awards or accolades, but to continue to improve the city and to help the residents.


Most of all he cherished his family along with his childhood friends and was always there to help anyone that needed assistance.


Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Marsha Lopez, brothers Ray, Ralph and Ruben, sister Clara and Granddaughter Amy. He is survived by his brother Joe and sister Alice, his three children Lorraine Lopez-Piraino, David (Scott) Lopez-Zucker and Rosalie (Kirk) Dulin and Grandchildren Nicole Dulin, Aiden, Bram and Cade Lopez-Zucker.

Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2024, at Saddleback Chapel, 220 E. Main St., Tustin, CA 92780

Viewing at 9:30 - 10:30 am

Service at 10:30 – 11:30 am

Gravesite Burial - 12:00pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869
