John Kenneth Bajorek
USMC Capt. John Kenneth Bajorek, Jr. was born to John and Mary Bajorek on February 18, 1944 and passed away on January 27, 2026, but every day in between was spent living a fully blessed life, a life spent in service to others.
John grew up in Ohio, was an Eagle Scout, and played trumpet while attending St. Joseph’s High School. He graduated from Kent State University prior to joining and serving in the United States Marine Corps. Though his tenure as an active Marine lasted 5 years, he was a decorated A-4 Skyhawk captain and he forever cherished his beloved Marine Corps.
In the early 1970’s, John relocated to Irvine, California, became a father to Johnny, and began a career in real estate before founding his appraisal business, Action Appraisers. In 1980, John met Pattie and her son Erik. In February 1981, John and Pattie wed, bringing their families together. Soon after, they welcomed their son, Michael, to the world, followed by their youngest son, Daniel.
An incredibly devoted son, husband, father, and friend, John loved numerous leisure activities including scuba diving, boating, and golfing. He enjoyed working around the house and could fix anything and was incredibly skilled at talking to anyone about everything. As a father, he enjoyed volunteering his time to coach his sons in baseball and was a soccer referee for 18 years. He was always his sons’ biggest fan.
Ever the provider, he seized every opportunity to give the best experiences to his family and friends. He loved Lake Tahoe, building his dream home and retiring there with his wife. All were welcomed in their home and he loved seeing his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren play around the Tahoe house and experience his favorite place on Earth. In the search for Heaven on Earth, John found it in Lake Tahoe, drinking wine and enjoying the view with his wife.
On January 27, John peacefully passed in the presence of his family with his wife holding his hand. In passing, John leaves behind Pattie, his loving and caring wife of nearly 45 years, his four sons, three daughters-in-law, and eight grandchildren. He moves into eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaving all who knew him with many lasting fond and funny memories.
We will all miss his laugh and his stories and his sons will forever miss John’s never-ending need to offer his advice and his desire to always be Dad. All who knew John knew a great man who lived a life filled with love of God, family, and the desire to serve all. May he rest peacefully in Heaven.
John will be put to rest with the rendering of Military Funeral Honors at 10:30 AM on March 12th, 2026 at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869. Following the service at the cemetery there will be a 12:00 PM reception at Park Paseo Clubhouse, 25 Christamon West, Irvine, CA 92620.

I had the privilege of knowing and working for John. He was an inspiration to me in many ways. A devoted family man with a strong bond to our Lord. It was an honor to spend a holiday meal with him this past December. I will miss him terribly and take comfort knowing John is now in paradise looking down lovingly on his wonderful wife and family. .
John will certainly be remembered as a loving family man with a strong will to thrive and live. We remember visiting with Pattie and John in their lovely Tahoe home. Our best wishes to the entire family

Sending my condolences to the Bajorek family. May you find comfort in all of your wonderful memories with John.
Best damn friends I ever had. That would be Ken, Paul, and me. We were brothers in life. We grew up together from second grade at St. Clare, high school at St. Joesph high. Then we all at different times enlisted in the military during the Vietnam War because we wanted to give back to the country. It was Marine corps, Navy and Air force respectively We continued to meet when we got leave time. We three settled in Southern Calif and pursued our life ambitions but always maintained the brotherhood. I moved back to Ohio after 22 years in Calif, Ken and Paul stayed there but we always stayed in touch. Holidays, birthdays, special occasions and when they would come back to Ohio to visit. Ken was a wonderful, generous, big-hearted man. Paul departed in Nov then Ken in Jan. A Big chapter in my life has come to an end. But every day going forward I will be forever grateful for the friendship of Ken and Paul in my life. How can you put on paper 74 years of sharing. My heart goes out to Pattie (with a E), John jr. whom I held when he was a baby and Last, I saw when he was two, and to Kens beautiful extended family. Ray Sullivan
So sorry to hear of Ken's death. It has been a long time since I 've seen him but have many nice memories of him and his Mom and Dad. It is so hard for your family now, but enjoy your family and enjoy all your memories.
Ever since we found out about John's passing, we have kept all of the family in our hearts. I (Sue) will always cherish my memories growing up with John ("my big brother") and the laughs that have been shared through the years. Our visits with John, Pattie and the family were always filled with sharing memories and laughs. Tim and I, and our children, will never forget those times. John (Kenny as I always knew him)…I will never forget you. I miss you but I know we will meet again someday, until then Rest in Peace "big brother".
An Officer and Gentleman (except if you almost run him over). Toughest guy we knew, endured more than anyone should and kept on keeping on. It was an honor and privilege to call him friend and be called friend by him. The best neighbor in Tahoe, already miss him too much.
