Jon Katzenstein
Jon Kumle Katzenstein, born on April 5, 1953, in Twenty Nine Palms, California, passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 71 while participating in the LA Turkey Trail Run.
Jon shared a loving marriage with his wife, Lee Anne, for 35 wonderful years. He is survived by his son, Sean (Katlin), and stepdaughters Eryn (Tim) Ferguson and Stephanie (Josh) Vineyard. Jon was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Mikayla Vineyard, Caleb Vineyard, Tristan Ferguson, Maya Ferguson, Kody Katzenstein, and Cade Katzenstein. He is also survived by his brothers West, Bill, and Allan, and sisters Yvonne and Linda.
An avid outdoorsman with a zest for life, Jon found joy in exploring the natural beauty of Southern California. He loved hiking its scenic hills, cycling along the coast, and participating in 10K runs. His adventurous spirit led him to complete his first triathlon at the remarkable age of 70—a testament to his determination and passion for staying active.
Jon’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
