Norberto Cabrera Bacani

norberto bacani

With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Norberto Cabrera Bacani Jr., 83, who peacefully entered eternal rest at his home in Tustin, California, surrounded by his loving family on January 14, 2026.

Born in 1942 in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, Norberto embodied the immigrant spirit of hard work and dedication to family. After spending several formative years in Hawaii, he established roots in Tustin, California in 1979, where he would build his legacy of love and service for over 45 years.

Norberto proudly served his adopted country through his dedicated work at El Toro Marine Base and Long Beach Naval Shipyard, where he was employed for 20 years, retiring from civilian service in 1999.

A devout Catholic, Norberto's faith was central to his life and guided his devotion to family and community. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 54 years, Rosita; his cherished children Judith, Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Joseph; and his beloved grandson, Anthony Orosco Jr.

Norberto found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved tending to his garden, playing chess—even competing in tournaments—and embraced modern technology through YouTube. He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, where his competitive spirit and playful nature found another outlet for entertainment.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26
