Paula Ann Shirley, born on February 24, 1986, in Orange, California, passed away on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving a warm legacy of love and kindness that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. Paula was a beacon of light, an unwavering spirit whose life was anchored in deep connections with her family, friends, and the animals she cherished so dearly.

After completing her education at California State University at Fullerton, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree, Paula began her career as an administrative assistant at Knobbe Martens Olson and Bear. For seven years, she dedicated herself to this role before pursuing her true passion: teaching. She left Knobbe and returned to school where she earned her Master’s degree, and Teaching Credential before landing a job at a Middle School in Corona. Her two years at the Corona Norco Unified School District were marked by a commitment to nurturing young minds and shaping the lives of the next generation, which she considered the highlight of her professional journey.

Family meant everything to Paula. She took immense joy in ensuring that all her loved ones were together for holiday gatherings, regardless of the distance that needed to be traveled. Her kind and welcoming nature made her a unifying force among friends, earning her a reputation for always accepting newcomers into her circle with open arms. She would be the first to offer help to those in need, reflecting her selfless spirit and love for community.

Paula's proudest accomplishments extended beyond her professional life. Recently, she organized a remarkable collection effort for those impacted by the Pasadena wildfires, raising thousands of dollars to aid affected families and animal shelters throughout the LA area. Such acts of kindness exemplified the boundless compassion she had for others, embodying her lifelong commitment to making a difference in the world.

An ardent lover of Angels baseball and an enthusiastic NSYNC fan, Paula found joy in organizing outings for friends to celebrate Angels opening day. She delighted in sharing her love for movies and television shows like Dirty Dancing, Downton Abbey, The Crown, and Vampire Diaries, often influencing those around her to embrace these passions.

Paula is survived by her loving husband Ryan; her devoted parents Louise Jordan and David Yrigoyen; her sisters Tina and Shelly; and her brothers John, David, and Ky (brother-in-law). Each of them carries forward the warmth and laughter she brought into their lives, holding her memory close as they navigate life without her physical presence.

Though her grandfather, Larry Jordan, has preceded her in death, Paula's spirit continues to thrive in the love shared among her family and friends. As we remember Paula, let us celebrate the beautiful moments she cultivated, the countless lives she touched, and the enduring legacy of kindness that will remain in the hearts of all who loved her.

  5. Paula and I met in 2001 as sophomores in high school and were inseparable for about 14 years. I always have, and will continue, to cherish that chapter of our lives. We came into adulthood together and our friendship's story and adventures pre-date Facebook and Myspace; the printed photos I have hold an immense amount of beautiful memories. When I moved out on my own, Paula let me use her Target credit card to buy a rug and décor for my place, and I made $40 payments to her until it was paid off! She had a huge heart and was always the life of the party. We had countless laughs and cries together as we learned who we were as we "grew up". My heart aches for this loss and especially for Paula's family, Ryan, and current friendships. May she rest peacefully and know how loved she is.

  8. My beautiful friend…I wish I could give you one more hug. My college best friend, unofficial roommate (she never signed the lease but slept in my room for a year lol), travel partner, and my favorite co-worker at 3 different places. We loved random adventures to Hawaii, sang NSYNC on road trips to Santa Barbara, and spent so many nights in college on my couch watching Gilmore Girls and eating mac & cheese cuz we were either too broke to eat out or saving for our next vacation. Life took us in different directions, but my love for her never changed. Even after all these years, anytime we watched Gilmore girls or listened to NSync, we never failed to send each other a random text. I will forever treasure her laughter, our memories, and the joy she brought into my life. Rest in peace, Paula. You are so loved 💔 My condolences to Ryan and her entire family.
