Rob (Robert) Allan Knaggs, age 66, a resident of Yorba Linda, California passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 after a short illness from cancer.

Rob was born on August 19, 1959 in Burbank California, the oldest of two children. When he was 11 years old his family moved from Burbank to Santa Ana, and eventually to Yorba Linda in 1984 when he purchased his home. At 17 years old he started his lifetime career as a tree trimmer, and at age 21 started his own tree service, Rob’s Tree Service, which he owned and operated until his death. Always one for an adventure, he learned to surf, sail, skydive, and eventually became a licensed helicopter pilot, and fixed wing pilot, learning to fly fixed wing in a Pitts S2B. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he became a competition aerobatic pilot, travelling across the state to enjoy the sport. He also enjoyed motorcycles and competed in trial competitions for several years.

His friendship, loyalty, generosity, and steadfastness will be missed by the many friends he has had over the years, from the newest to the lifelong.

Rob will forever be missed by Laura (wife), Ryan (brother), Kelly, Kristy, and Makenna (nieces). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Joan.

  1. We met Rob while sittiing next to him at the counter during breakfast at Flo's Airport Cafe. We both kept airplanes at Chino Airport, and it was easy to strike up a conversation. We quickly became friends. Rob would stop by the house and we'd have long talks about flying, real estate, trees, politics, and life. It's a shock to hear of his early passing. Rob"s was a bright life, such an inquisitive, honest, and friendly soul. We will miss those chats with Rob.

  2. Lisa Scott purchased Peace Lily for Rob Knaggs

  3. We miss you here at home Rob. I know God needed you with him, but we wish you were still here.

  4. I found Rob's tree service years ago after using a couple different companies. He was so friendly and helpful in deciding how to care for my trees. If I didn't call him in the spring, he would call me and we'd set a time for him to come. I liked his crew, especially Geronimo, his expert trimmer. While the men worked, he and I would stand in the yard and talk about lots of things. He got a kick out of telling about his business beginnings, selling oranges, avocados, etc., which grew in abundance back then here in North Tustin. He enjoyed life, being useful, pushing himself to try different things. For the majority of the years he did our trees he wouldn't raise his price so I would add a tip to his bill. I loved his stories about relationships with different customers, his plans for retirement, which sadly he never got to; maybe not sadly though because he enjoyed being out and being with people. I will miss him and I pray for peace for his wife and the rest of his family. He was certainly a blessing to those of us who knew him.
